Stockholm Syndrome

Stockholm City HallStockholm Syndrome is a term used to describe a phenomenon where hostages express devotion towards their captors that appear irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the hostages, essentially mistaking a lack of abuse from their captors as an act of kindness. At least four (4) conditions allow Stockholm Syndrome to develop: [1]

  1. A physical threat to kill the hostage and the ability to carry it out.

  2. The inability of the hostage to escape. The hostage feels their life and/or livelihood (i.e., the means of supporting their existence) depends on the captor.

  3. The hostage is isolated from outside views and forced to accept the views of the captor.

  4. After a threatening experience, the captor displays kindness to the hostage.

Stockholm Syndrome's Effect

Former Kreditbanken at Norrmalmstorg, StockhomNot only is Stockholm Syndrome viewed as a natural response or defense mechanism, it is also viewed as a simple brainwashing technique. Antebellum slavers and modern day sex traffickers are examples of both past and present captors that create conditions where Stockholm Syndrome can develop. As a brainwashing technique the goal is to convince the hostage that: [2]

  1. The captor is omnipotent.

  2. Resistance is futile.

  3. Life depends on winning the captor's indulgence thru absolute compliance.

  4. The lack of abuse is love.

Stockholm Syndrome's Power and Potential

"I freed thousands of slaves. I could have freed thousands more, if they had known they were slaves." — Harriet Tubman (c. 1822 - 10 March 1913), also known as Black Moses, was an African-American abolitionist.

Planned Parenthood LogoThe freedom, independence, empowerment and sense of security promised women by abortion is a lie. Can equality for women be achieved at the expense of murdering their children? Of course not. Abortion is oxymoronic. Planned Parenthood, the world's largest abortion provider, embraces abortion as a "cruel kindness". The truth is abortion is a lie that promises to improve the "quality of life" at the "expense of life."

Here is a LifeCommercial that illustrates the point. [3]

Planned Parenthood LogoEmbracing leaders and organizations that embrace abortion as a necessary social policy to guarantee life, will ultimately result in the end of life. Abortion not only fails to free women, it ultimately promises to enslave us all. At times, I wonder if Planned Parenthood knows anything about the potential power, purpose and profit of creating conditions where Stockholm Syndrome can be developed. Because abortion is still legal in America, I also wonder if our church leaders, publicly elected representatives and pro-Life organizations are suffering from it?

Brothers, we really need to talk.
