Reaching Men

Reaching Men Training Overview

"Reaching Men Matters" is an Issues4Life Foundation PowerPoint Presentation that explores this issue in light of my experience as a sidewalk counselor in Oakland, California, talking with men involved in an abortion. The fact is, it is his baby, too. So this presentation is designed to start discussions that lead to effective Pro-Life outreaches to men and can be freely shared.

We Must Reach Men

When the discussion is about the heartbreaking reality of abortion, abortion on demand, Roe v. Wade, or even Planned Parenthood, the focus is on women. And well it should be. It is the woman, created in the image of God, not the man, who gets pregnant. It is the woman, not the man, who nurses and nourishes the child in her womb. And ultimately, it is the woman, not the man, who gives birth to a baby boy or baby girl. Top

These are facts, which are both indisputable and indispensable to human life on earth. When it boils down to physically bringing a baby boy or a baby girl into the world, it is the woman’s body, not the man’s body, that God has created to bring new human life into the world. So it is understandable that when the discussion is about abortion, abortion on demand, Roe v. Wade, or even Planned Parenthood, the focus is on women. However, it is also a fact that men are intimately involved in this equation. Top

Yeah, It Is His Baby Too.

So when the discussion is about the heartbreaking reality of abortion, abortion on demand, Roe v. Wade, or even Planned Parenthood, men, who are a necessary part of the reproductive process for human beings, not only have a place at the table, but a voice that should be heard. While we must continue to focus on meeting the physical and emotional needs of women, we must also recognize that men, 1 in their own way, suffer as well as women in the aftermath of abortion. Top

Since the “Carnegie Stages of Early Human Embryonic Development” was first published in 1942, 2 medical science has made it clear, that when the man’s sperm and the woman’s egg occupy the same space, the woman is a mother and the man is a father. While men respond very differently to abortion than women, men are nevertheless impacted by the loss of the child. So as the Pro-Life community compassionately builds programs to minister to women who have suffered the physical and emotional pain of abortion, the same Pro-Life community should also reach out to the men as well, with programs specifically crafted to meet their needs. A Father's Race To Life's Finish Line

Like many of you, I have children that are grown, out of the house and on their own. As you can image, from time to time, I've been running and stopped along the trail to create a short video message, to encouraging my children to hold on to "God's Unchanging Hand". As a father, this was just one of the ways I was staying in touch with my children.

The Biggest Root Cause Of Crime Is Fatherlessness

Here, Fox News contributor Jason Riley joined "Sunday Night In America" to discuss how two (2) parent households may ensure safer communities. An academic study is suggesting the presence of two (2) parents in a household may play a crucial role in ensuring safer communities. Wall Street Journal columnist Jason Riley, who recently wrote about this topic, argued on "Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy" that the biggest root of crime is fatherlessness. Jason Riley referenced the book "The Two-Parent Privilege" by economist Melissa Kearney in emphasizing the significant impact of family structure on social inequality and the lack of discussion on this issue within academia and in this country. In August of 2012, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) revealed that 72% of Black American children are born to unwed mothers. Read the Daniel Patrick Moynihan report for details. Baby mamas, single mothers, deadbeat dads, absent fathers: these polarizing terms are commonplace in today's Black American community. Why are 72% of Black American children born out of wedlock, and being raised by single mothers? This documentary reveals the origin and definition of the term "Baby Mama" and the affect it has had on the Black American community.

The Fatherhood Video Playlist Video Series above was recorded during the Coronavirus pandemic, I'd stepped up my video messages to almost every other day. My goal is to share a Bible verse with my children and assure them that Lori and I are all right. Yeah, I am a "Life Runner", but I am a father first and my children and grand-babies are constantly on my heart. This is an example of a project men can embrace as a way of ministering to their children no longer under their roof. 4

Need more? Need to hear a voice that makes it absolutely clear that we have to reach men? Then read this letter from a man in prison serving a life sentence. This letter was written to Eva Muntean, co-founder of the Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco. With his permission, Eva shared his letter with me. Thank you Eva!! I know you're listening. Please, read the letter. Top
